Sara Levy

Sara is a San Diego-based yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training and a deep devotion to the practice. With a background in dance, she was first drawn to yoga through its physical discipline — but soon discovered its power as a spiritual and emotional anchor. Her classes are a natural extension of that journey — where structure holds space for softness, and movement becomes a gateway to stillness. Rooted in both the Ashtanga and Hatha lineages, Sara’s teaching blends form and flow, encouraging students to slow down and move with intention. She’s known for her steady pacing and clear, insightful cueing, which allow students to hold postures longer and embody the essence of each shape with breath and awareness. Her most recent training with Love And All is Coming (LAAIC) further deepened her commitment to the yogic path and sparked a newfound love for kriya, mantra, pranayama and shatkarma practices. Yoga has taken Sara across the world, but it continues to lead her inward — fueling both her personal evolution and her devotion to teaching. While working full-time as a speech-language pathologist, Sara still manages to teach weekly classes and YTT — an offering that reflects her deep love for yoga and the way it continues to shape her life from the inside out.

Liv Spalding

Liv is an Ocean Beach-based yoga instructor who discovered her love for the practice over seven years ago, drawn in by the sense of strength, confidence and empowerment it created. Inspired by her teachers, she began her own journey in teacher training four years ago, first earning her sculpt certification and later completing her 200-hour training in Santa Barbara, followed by an additional 200-hour training in Bali to deepen her perspective. Liv’s teaching style blends strength and fluidity, creating seamless, dynamic flows that are both challenging and accessible. She loves creating thoughtfully crafted sequences and energizing playlists, and cultivating a powerful, connected energy in the room. Liv has since supported and coached multiple teacher trainings and is passionate about guiding others as they grow into confident, authentic instructors. She has been a proud teacher at Indie Yoga for the past year and a half and is excited to continue supporting and inspiring future teachers this fall.

What Our Students Say

“Teacher training at Indie Yoga is more than learning the proper ways to queue someone into a yoga posture. It’s all the space in between those postures; it’s the journey and dance your mind, body, and soul takes to get there.”
